SAN FRANCISCO
CMP Technology announced that former Vice President Al Gore will give the keynote presentation at the 19th annual Embedded Systems Conference Silicon Valley (www.esconline.com/sv). CMP’s Embedded Systems Conference is the largest electronic systems design event in North America, and will be held at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California, April 1-5, 2007.

“Engineering’s elite convene at the Embedded Systems Conference Silicon Valley. These professionals create technologies to help us live longer, work better and enjoy life more,” said Paul Miller, senior vice president and group publisher of CMP Technology’s Electronics and Software Development Groups. “We're pleased to welcome Al Gore as the keynote speaker, as he’s been instrumental in giving America an environmental wake up call. Mr. Gore understands the critical importance of the engineering community in driving innovation, and developing solutions to important issues such as energy efficiency and global warming.”
This year’s theme, "The Power of Brain Power," spotlights what today's system architects, design engineers, engineering students and industry leaders are doing to address some of the serious problems facing both the U.S. and the world, from declining technical education in the U.S. to global environmental impact.

Other highlights of ESC Silicon Valley include first-time events made popular at ESC Boston, including “Live Teardowns” of a hybrid vehicle, the Disruption Zone featuring groundbreaking innovations from leading start-ups, and “Get to the Point Panels” which engage participants in the latest technology debates of the day.
